Welcome to The Ardi-zan!

Hi! I am Ardith and this is my blog.

I have always enjoyed cooking and creating and experimenting with tastes, but in recent years, this has become a real passion for me, as well as a way to relax on a Sunday afternoon. I also enjoy writing, so I have been considering some kind of outlet for both of my passions…and despite being hesitant about starting this blog, I decided – enough thinking! Get on with it! So welcome to inaugural post on Ardi-zan, my creative outlet that I hope will be almost as enjoyable for you, although certainly not as scary!

The Oxford Dictionary defines artisan as:

  1. a worker in a skilled trade, especially one that involves making things by hand
  2. (When a modifier of food or drink) made in a traditional or non-mechanized way using high-quality ingredients

On days when I have the time, so generally Friday nights or weekends, I like to experiment with a new flavour, recipe, or idea I have seen on TV, read about, heard mention of in conversation. Making (sometimes) delicious food from scratch, by hand, using quality ingredients, seems to fit the definition of artisan, and of course I have this delightful name that my mother chose just for me. Bingo! Ardi-zan!

I hope to be able to share some of my foodie experiments, and lessons learned from them (good and bad), as well as share some resources, information, even restaurants, stores and brands that have been positive for me. This is my scary first step, but I hope it will be a rewarding and fun experience for us both. Thanks for joining me.
